CCU CALCULATOR

Cross-Chassis Upgrades let you pay only the price difference between a ship you own and a ship you want. This tool calculates direct CCU cost, lists every valid intermediate ship to shop for sale-priced hops, and saves your watch-list so you can act fast when CIG drops a discount.

// How CCUs Actually Work

A CCU (Cross-Chassis Upgrade) is a one-way upgrade from a ship you already own to a more expensive one. You pay only the USD price difference between standalone store prices.

Why intermediate hops matter: CIG runs sales (Anniversary, Invictus, IAE, monthly themed events) where individual ship prices temporarily drop. A CCU between two ships uses whatever the source/target prices are at the moment you buy. So buying a chain of CCUs while each is briefly on sale stacks discounts the direct path can't match.

Warbond CCUs use a "freshly purchased with cash" rule — they're locked to the sale price even after the sale ends, but require new payment (not store credit). The most aggressive savers hold warbond CCUs in their hangar for months until the next upgrade cycle.

// Pro Tips

  • Buy your CCU chain in ascending order on RSI — earlier ships in the chain need to exist in your hangar before you can buy the next CCU.
  • Most sales drop ~10–25% off select ships. The biggest discounts hit during IAE in November.
  • You cannot CCU down — if you upgrade Aurora → Cutlass, you cannot go back to the Aurora.
  • CCUs are not refundable once applied. They are refundable while sitting in your hangar (within RSI's normal refund window).
  • Concept ships often CCU UP to more expensive in-game ships at a low effective cost early in their pledge cycle.
