SC Codex ("the site", "we", "us") is a free, fan-made reference for Cloud Imperium Games' Star Citizen® universe. It is a non-commercial educational/reference project run by an individual fan. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cloud Imperium Games or any of its subsidiaries.
// 02 — Intellectual Property
Star Citizen® and Squadron 42® are trademarks and copyrights of Cloud Imperium Games. All ship names, ship images, planet names, item names, faction names, lore extracts, and in-game imagery used on this site are property of Cloud Imperium Games and are used under fair-use principles for fan reference and commentary.
The site's own design (SC Codex branding, layout, original written commentary, curated career guides, custom SVG icons) is the work of the project maintainer.
Data is aggregated from public, community-maintained sources: UEX Corp, FleetYards, and Star Citizen Wiki. Each source retains its own licensing.
// 03 — No Warranty
The information on SC Codex is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis. The game's economy, ships, weapons, and mechanics change rapidly between patches. We make no promise that any specific data point is current or accurate at the moment you read it.
Do not make real-money pledge decisions based solely on SC Codex content. Always verify on Cloud Imperium Games' official RSI website before purchasing.
Do not make in-game economic decisions (large cargo runs, capital ship purchases) without verifying current prices in-game. Our trade route data is a snapshot.
// 04 — Acceptable Use
You may:
- Use SC Codex for personal Star Citizen reference
- Share links to specific pages with your org, friends, or community
- Print pages for offline reference
- Export your Hangar data (it's yours)
You may not:
- Scrape the site at high volume or impersonate a normal browser (we share infrastructure costs)
- Resell or relicense the curated content
- Use the site to harass other Star Citizen players
- Reverse-engineer or republish CIG's intellectual property (ship images, lore) outside fair-use commentary
// 05 — User-Contributed Content
Currently there is no user-contributed content on SC Codex. If that changes, this section will be updated.
// 06 — Advertising
SC Codex displays third-party advertising from Google AdSense to cover hosting costs. Ads are clearly marked. We do not endorse advertised products. See our Privacy Policy for details on how AdSense handles your data.
// 07 — Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainer of SC Codex is not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to:
- Loss of in-game aUEC from following outdated trade routes
- Loss of pledged ships due to incorrect status info
- Service interruptions or data inaccuracy
If you lose a Carrack in Pyro because you trusted our quantum range calculator, we are very sorry, but we are not financially liable.
// 08 — DMCA / Takedown
If you are Cloud Imperium Games or a rights-holder and believe content on SC Codex infringes your rights, please contact the maintainer via the channels listed on About. We will respond promptly and in good faith. SC Codex exists to support and grow the Star Citizen community, not to undermine CIG's commercial rights.

These terms may change. Material changes will be noted with at least 30 days' notice in the site header. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
// 10 — Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the maintainer resides. Disputes will be resolved in good faith via direct contact first. The site is hosted in the United States via Hostinger.
